According to their report, a minor kitchen remodel consists of a kitchen approximately 200 sq. ft. in area with 30 linear feet of counter and cabinets. This cost includes:
- Leaving the cabinet boxes in place while replacing the doors and hardware
- Replacing appliances with low to mid-range cost equivalents
- Replacing counter top with a low to mid-range material such as Corian or laminate
- New low to mid-range sink and faucet
- Replacing flooring with a low to mid-range manufactured product such as resilient vinyl
- Replace wall covering and paint walls and trim
A major kitchen remodel cost is based on the same size kitchen, approximately 200 sq. ft. in area with 30 linear feet of counter and cabinets. This cost includes:
- Existing cabinets are completely removed and replaced with custom cabinetry with high end features such as slide out shelves and soft close drawers
- Replacing appliances with high end or commercial grade appliances
- Encasing appliances in custom cabinetry to hide them
- Replacing counter top with a high end natural stone such as granite
- New custom glass tile or other decorative backsplash
- New high end sink and faucet
- Replacing flooring with a high end natural stone, tile or wood
- New lighting including recessed ceiling lights and under cabinet task lighting
- Replace wall covering and paint walls and custom finished trim
